Southeast Asia Visa Guide for Indian Passport Holders in 2026

The Indian passport offers access to several Southeast Asian countries visa-free or on arrival, making the region one of the most accessible international group tour destinations for Indians. However, policies change regularly, so having an up-to-date guide is essential before you plan your 2026 Southeast Asia group tour.

Thailand — Visa-Free for Indians Since 2024

Thailand extended its visa-free policy for Indian passport holders in 2024, allowing stays of up to 30 days without a visa. This has significantly boosted Thailand's popularity as an Indian group tour destination. Simply arrive at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi or any major Thai airport with your passport (valid for 6+ months), onward ticket, and proof of accommodation. No advance application needed.

Indonesia (Bali) — Visa on Arrival for Indians

Indians require a Visa on Arrival (VoA) for Indonesia, including Bali. The fee is approximately USD 35 per person and covers a 30-day stay with one 30-day extension possible. VoA is obtained at the airport on arrival. For groups, we recommend e-Visa pre-approval via molina.imigrasi.go.id to save time in the immigration queue at Ngurah Rai Airport.

Vietnam — E-Visa for 90 Days

Vietnam introduced a 90-day e-visa for Indian passport holders that can be applied for at evisa.xuatnhapcanh.gov.vn. The fee is approximately USD 25 and approval takes 3 working days. This e-visa is single or multiple entry. For group tours, apply at least 2 weeks before travel to account for any processing delays. Keep a printout of the e-visa approval to show at immigration.

Malaysia & Singapore — Easy Entry for Indians

Malaysia offers visa-free entry for Indians for up to 30 days under MDAC (Malaysia Digital Arrival Card) registration — complete the free online form at imigresen-online.kcm.gov.my before travel. Singapore requires an e-visa (STVP) applied through the ICA e-service or your tour operator; approval is typically granted within 1–3 working days for tourism purposes. TravelBuddy handles Singapore visa applications for all group tour members.

Cambodia — e-Visa Available Online

Cambodia requires a visa for Indians, available as an e-visa at evisa.gov.kh (USD 36 fee, 1-month single entry) or on arrival at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports (USD 30). The e-visa is recommended for groups to avoid queues. Passport must be valid for at least 6 months beyond entry date.

General Tips for Visa Applications on Group Tours

Always check entry requirements 4–6 weeks before travel as policies change frequently. Ensure passport validity is at least 6 months beyond your return date. Keep 2–3 blank pages available in your passport for stamps. Carry copies of hotel confirmations, return tickets, and travel insurance. TravelBuddy's visa assistance team handles all visa applications for group tour members as part of our package service.
