Your complete kingdom tour begins with a landing at Paro International Airport, one of the world's most thrilling landings as aircraft navigate steep mountain gorges to touch down in the narrow valley. Receive your guide with a traditional welcome and transfer to Thimphu, the kingdom's capital, via the scenic Wang Chhu river road. The 1.5-hour drive introduces the landscape signature of Bhutan: whitewashed farmhouses adorned with religious paintings, ancient chortens at village boundaries, and forested ridgelines draped in prayer flags.
